Save America's Treasures program. Historic Wendover Airfield, Inc., a member of FRCI's client family, operates the Manhattan Project's Enola Gay Hanger at Wendover Airfield, Utah. This is the hangar that housed the Enola Gay, the
B-29 Superfortress that dropped the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945, is, along with other
Manhattan Project sites, and is in a critical state of disrepair. This matching gran, and designation as one of America's Most Endangered Historic Places t will play a big rolet in preserving this important piece of America's history for future generations to study and learn from the times and issues surrounding the dropping of the Atomic bomb.
